Was the women’s diamondback serene citi bicycle a good choice?
I am a runner who is starting to get into cycling to switch up workouts. I went to Dick’s sporting goods and said I wanted to ride about 20-30 miles a day 5 days a week on paved surfaces and dirt roads with lots of hills. He recommended the above bike. It is extremely comfortable but I feel like I go very slow on it, especially on dirt roads. Did he sell me the right bike, or is this bike made for just pedaling around town, and not for a good workout? Still got the sales receipt? It’s an OK bike for casual riding in the neighborhood. Nothing more than that. The Kenda Comfort 26×1.95 tires are good for both roads & light trails. However, a taller, thinner tire, like those used on hybrid bikes will also work. It’s got a steel frame vs. aluminum. That weighs it down.
I’ll just skip to the bottom line… If you can take it back – take it back. What I would recommend is on the 2nd link down. Much better bike for work-outs & still comfy. Much better components & an aluminum frame.
